I am making my travel plans for Colombia. I just have some general questions.
Is it a fairly safe country to travel in?
Is it ok to actually go out to the ladies homes if they live away from the tourist areas?

it is not that safe to travel around the country, you have to be very careful, girls can mix drugs in your drinks or they may have a boyfriend who is a criminal,only travel with people you know, be safe

I was in Colombia July and August of this year. Travelled Bogota, Santa MArta, MEdellin, Gautape, Penol..etc...I never had any problems with safety except for the odd beggar. Keep your usual wits about you, The majority of Colombians are friendly well mannered people who have a lot of respect and fascination for why you are in their country.. I was invited to numerous houses, parties and offered no end of phone numbers and help....Don't take silly risks like in your own country, If it doesn't feel good don't do it....Interact with them and they will engage you
